FAQ

Testing, certificates of analysis, batch verification and shipping.

Can I cancel an order or return it?

Orders can be cancelled before dispatch. Contact us with your order number and, if the order has not shipped, it is cancelled and refunded in full. Once an order has shipped it cannot be returned, because research materials cannot be restocked once they have left our control. If an order arrives damaged or incorrect, contact us within 7 days.

What is a Certificate of Analysis?

A Certificate of Analysis, or COA, is a laboratory document recording the test results for one specific batch. It identifies the compound, states the measured purity, and names the testing laboratory and the date of analysis. Dr Pepr publishes a COA for every batch in the COA Library.

Does every batch have its own Certificate of Analysis?

Yes. Each batch is tested independently and carries its own certificate. Results apply to a single batch only, so a COA from a different batch is not a substitute.

What does HPLC purity testing measure?

High performance liquid chromatography separates the components of a sample and measures how much of each is present. In peptide analysis it is used to determine what proportion of the sample is the target peptide. That proportion is reported as purity on the Certificate of Analysis.

What is mass spectrometry used for in peptide analysis?

Mass spectrometry measures molecular weight, which is used to confirm the identity of a peptide. HPLC reports how pure a sample is. Mass spectrometry confirms that the compound present is the one named.

How do I find the Certificate of Analysis for my batch?

Every vial label carries a batch number. Locate that batch number in the COA Library to view the certificate for that batch.

What is a batch number?

A batch number identifies a single production and testing run. It links the vial supplied to the certificate recording the test results for that run.

How are the compounds stored?

Lyophilised peptides are held and dispatched in sealed vials. Storage conditions for each compound are listed in the specifications on its product page and on the Certificate of Analysis.

What does “for research use only” mean?

It means the material is supplied solely for lawful laboratory and analytical research purposes. It is not for human consumption, therapeutic use, veterinary use, diagnostic use, or clinical application. No representations are made regarding safety or efficacy for any human or animal use.
